BOERKAMP, Anthony (Tony); Peacefully with his family by his side at Norfolk General Hospital on Wednesday March 4, 2015 of Waterford in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of the late Glenda (Cloet). Loving father of Mark (and Charlotte), Rebecca (and Mike) Dunbar, Tony (and Sue), Tracey (and Shelley). Proud Papa of Rebecca (and Tyson), Tosha (and Jonny); Benjamin (and Danielle), Jessie, Nathan (and Paige); Tony (T.W.) (and Aida); Leigh (and Jodie), Arielle (and Willy), Chloe (and Geoff), and great grandchildren, Connor, Charlotte; Benjamin, Rohland; Riley, Alaina; Ainsleigh; Kurtis; Natalie, Nicholas. Dear brother of Joseph, Frank, Bernard, and Dinie Boerkamp, and sister-in-law June Boerkamp. Predeceased by grandson Nigel, brothers Ko (and Willie), and Louis. Tony came to Canada alone at age 17, and began his long career of farming in 1957. Tony was an active and involved member of the community serving and volunteering as school trustee with Catholic School Board, Commissioner with Crop Insurance, Farm Family Advisor, member of Knights of Columbus, volunteer with Senior Support Services, Member and Director of Norfolk Enviromental Farm Plan, Director and Co-founder of Norfolk Woodlot Owners Association, and Co-founder of Kodiak Snowmobile Club. Along with Tony’s involvement in his community, he had a deep commitment to his family, an avid golfer, bird lover, photographer, welding sculptor, and master carpenter. Friends may call the THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford Friday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish Saturday at 10am. Fr. Alan Dufraimont officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy the family would appreciate donations to Long Point Bird Observatory, or Haldimand Norfolk Senior Support Services.
